CJP leader Abhijeet Dipke detained at Delhi airport ahead of planned Jantar Mantar protest

Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke, along with party members Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, were detained by Delhi Police on Saturday, October 10, immediately after their flight landed at Indira Gandhi International Airport. Police boarded the aircraft shortly after it touched down to take the leaders into custody.
Dipke live-streamed the detention on Instagram, criticizing the police action. In his video statement, he alleged that authorities were preventing young leaders from participating in a protest and claimed that even Indira Gandhi did not detain people in such a manner during the 1975 Emergency. He described the action as indicative of fear within the ruling government and characterized it as "dictatorship."
Delhi Police stated that the detention was in view of an unpermitted protest planned by the CJP at Jantar Mantar. The police said Dipke was informed about his grandmother's death during the day and was offered assistance to return to his hometown on humanitarian grounds.
