India Digital ADR Summit 2026 opens in Gujarat; Justice Bindal warns against outsourcing human judgment to AI

The India Digital Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Summit 2026, organised by the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) School of Law, opened on September 12-13 at NFSU Gandhinagar in Gujarat. The inaugural session focused on "Artificial Intelligence in Arbitration: Enhancing Decision-Making Without Replacing Human Judgment" and was attended by Supreme Court Judge N. V. Anjaria, Attorney General R. Venkataramani, Gujarat Chief Justice Sunita Agarwal, and former Supreme Court judges M. R. Shah and Rajesh Bindal.
The ceremony included unveiling of SAMYAK, an Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform developed by the International Digital Dispute Resolution Centre (IDDRC) at NFSU. The platform handles claim filing, evidence management, online hearings, and award rendering. Justice Bindal cautioned against outsourcing human thinking to artificial intelligence in dispute resolution. The IDDRC was inaugurated in February 2026 by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant.
