DMK reverses stance on Rahul Gandhi, now backs protest against Chief Election Commissioner

The DMK has reversed its position on Rahul Gandhi's protest within a day. After criticising him on Tuesday, the party led by MK Stalin switched to backing his demonstration on Wednesday. DMK spokesperson TKS Elangovan stated that if Gnaneshwar Kumar at the top post is anti-democratic, fair elections cannot be held. He added that Rahul Gandhi was correct to lead the protest against government mistakes, and that it is every citizen's right to fight errors by those in power.
The shift is notable because when Gandhi led Congress protests in Delhi on October 6 demanding cancellation of the Special Integrated Review (SIR) of voter rolls and removal of the Chief Election Commissioner, DMK had questioned Congress's silence on the SIR affecting Tamil Nadu's voter list. DMK alleged millions of voters were removed during the SIR process.
