DMK IT Wing Chief Files ₹1 Crore Defamation Case Against Actor in Madras High Court

Divya Sathyaraj, chief of the DMK's IT wing, filed a ₹1 crore defamation case against actor Bayilvan Ranganathan in the Madras High Court. Justice K. Govindarajan Thilakavadi issued an order restraining the actor and social media platforms including YouTube, Facebook and X from further dissemination of the alleged objectionable statements.

The case centres on statements made by the actor that the DMK official claims are defamatory. The court's interim order prevents the continued spread of the contested content across digital platforms pending further hearings.
