Election Commission caps physical voter deletion requests at 10 per person

The Election Commission has imposed a cap on physical submissions of Form 7, the application used to delete voters from electoral rolls. Under the new directive, individuals can submit a maximum of 10 such forms per person.
Form 7 is used by citizens to request removal of names from voter lists, typically due to relocation, duplicate registrations, or disqualification grounds. The cap aims to curb misuse of the deletion process and prevent organized attempts to erase large numbers of voters through bulk submissions.
The move comes as part of the EC's efforts to maintain electoral roll integrity and ensure that only valid deletion requests are processed. The commission continues to encourage digital submissions through its official portals as the preferred method for voter roll modifications.
