Election Commission officer flagged to cabinet secretary over IT wing oversight

Two Election Commissioners, Sukhbir Sandhu and Vivek Joshi, have escalated concerns to Cabinet Secretary TV Somanathan regarding an officer's handling of the Election Commission's IT wing. The Commissioners flagged the matter through letters sent to the Cabinet Secretary, citing governance issues within the poll panel.
According to the letters, the officer in question attempted to alter the routing of files belonging to DG (IT) Seema Khanna. The Commissioners contended that this action undermined an established layer of scrutiny within the Election Commission's internal structure. The matter pertains to internal governance protocols at India's electoral body and the oversight mechanisms in place for the IT wing.
The issue reflects concerns about potential disruptions to established administrative procedures within the Election Commission, with the Commissioners seeking intervention from the Cabinet Secretary on the matter.
