Election Commission orders special drive to enrol left-out and first-time voters

The Election Commission of India has directed a special voter registration drive to enrol left-out and first-time young electors. In a letter to chief electoral officers, the ECI instructed this campaign to be undertaken after the completion of the Summary Inclusive Revision (SIR) process.
As part of the drive, Block-level Officers (BLOs) will conduct door-to-door visits to identify and register eligible voters who have not yet enrolled on the electoral rolls. The initiative aims to improve voter registration and ensure broader participation in the electoral process.
