Election Commission sends notices to FM Jaishankar, CBI chief and others over voter rolls discrepancies

The Election Commission has issued notices under the Summarised Information Report (SIR) category to Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar and his wife Kyoko S. Jaishankar, CBI Director Praveen Sood and family members, former Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi and his wife, and former Supreme Court judge Ranjana Desai and family members.
The notices were sent because current voter records for these individuals could not be matched with the voter list from the last revision in 2002. Delhi's Chief Electoral Officer clarified that receiving a notice does not mean names will be removed from voter rolls. Individuals are being asked to correct their data in the ECINET system and will not have their names deleted without being given an opportunity to present their case.
Jaishankar and his wife are registered as voters in the Sundar Bagh section of New Delhi assembly constituency. CBI chief Sood, his wife Vanita and mother Kamlesh are in the same category, as are former Army Chief General Dwivedi and his wife Sunita.
