ED arrests Chhattisgarh official in CGPSC exam paper leak case

The Enforcement Directorate's Raipur zonal office arrested Chetan Borgharia, currently Additional Collector of Balrampur-Ramanujganj and formerly OSD at the Chief Minister's office, on September 11 in connection with a money laundering case linked to alleged paper leaks and irregularities in Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) state service exams of 2020 and 2021. He was produced before a special PMLA court in Raipur and remanded to six days ED custody.
The ED's investigation stems from an FIR filed with Raipur EOW/ACB alleging large-scale corruption, manipulation and irregularities in CGPSC exams. The CBI later took over the probe, registering an FIR against former CGPSC chairman Taman Singh Sonwani and others, with a chargesheet subsequently filed.
According to the ED, individuals Utkarsh Chandrakar, Anil Chandrakar and Dr. Vikas Chandrakar allegedly collected over ₹3 crore from various CGPSC 2021 candidates by promising them exam papers and selection. Borgharia's name and official position were allegedly used to provide assurances to candidates. Some candidates reportedly received leaked question papers before the preliminary exam at a venue in Raipur.
