ED seizes ₹13.83 crore in Uttarakhand scholarship scam

The Enforcement Directorate has attached assets worth ₹13.83 crore in connection with an alleged scholarship fraud case in Uttarakhand. The ED alleges that educational institutions illegally obtained funds released by the state's Social Welfare Department for SC/ST scholarships.

According to the agency, the institutions submitted fraudulent applications listing ineligible, non-genuine, and non-verifiable students as scholarship beneficiaries to siphon government money.
