ED summons former Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan in CMRL payoffs case

The Enforcement Directorate has summoned former Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to appear for questioning at its zonal office in Kochi on October 23. The summons is related to an ongoing investigation into alleged payoffs connected to the Cochin Metro Rail Limited (CMRL).
This marks a significant development in the case involving the senior Communist leader, who served as Kerala's chief minister until May 2023. The ED's move comes as part of its probe into financial irregularities allegedly linked to the metro rail project.
Vijayan's appearance before the agency represents a key phase in the investigation. The former CM had previously been questioned in connection with similar matters related to CMRL operations.
