Congress attacks EC's press note on voter deletions, seeks SIR pause
Congress has criticized the Election Commission's recent press note, claiming it fails to address concerns about deletion of Gen Z voters from electoral rolls. Party leader Jairam Ramesh raised questions about the credibility and intent of the EC, alleging that young voters are being systematically targeted.
The party is demanding immediate suspension of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process and calling for accountability from the Chief Election Commissioner. Congress contends the EC's response was evasive on substantive issues related to voter deletions.
