LK Advani, Jaishankar, Election Commissioner Among Prominent Voters Issued SIR Notices

Former deputy prime minister LK Advani, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, former vice-president Jagdeep Dhankhar and Election Commissioner SS Sandhu are among prominent figures issued notices for discrepancies in voter details under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in Delhi, officials said Sunday.
Following publication of draft rolls of over 97 lakh voters, 33.13 lakh notices have been issued for discrepancies. Most notices relate to voter details not matching information from the 2002 SIR. The Delhi Chief Electoral Officer's office clarified that system-generated notices aim to correct data and stressed there is no automatic deletion of names.
Other prominent names on the notice list include foreign secretary Vikram Misri, former Delhi deputy CM Manish Sisodia, former JNU vice-chancellor M Jagadesh Kumar, and SEBI chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey. Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal criticised the exercise, calling it 'special intensive deletion' of votes.
