Improve NTA instead of replacing it, says former UGC chief

A former head of the University Grants Commission has advised against replacing the National Testing Agency, instead recommending three structural changes to improve exam security. The suggestions focus on strengthening the agency's operational framework and oversight mechanisms.
The remarks come amid ongoing scrutiny of NTA's conduct of competitive entrance examinations, particularly following irregularities in recent test administrations. The former UGC official argued that reform and institutional improvement would be more effective than attempting to rebuild the agency from scratch.
