Farmers halted at Noida-Delhi border during CJP protest

Farmers affiliated with the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) were stopped at the Noida-Delhi border on Tuesday as they attempted to participate in a Chakka Jaam (wheel blockade) protest. The farmers, travelling in tractors and trolleys, were halted at the toll plaza after responding to a call by senior BKU leader Rakesh Tikait.
The protesters subsequently staged a sit-in at the toll plaza as part of the wider agitation. The blockade appeared to be part of ongoing farmer demonstrations over various agrarian demands.
