Farmers warn of protests over fertilizer shortage; allege black market sales

Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) leaders have warned of potential farmer protests over persistent fertilizer shortages affecting agricultural operations across multiple states. The farm leaders alleged that fertilizer is being diverted to black markets even as farmers struggle to procure supplies.

According to SKM representatives, the shortage is particularly acute in Bihar and Madhya Pradesh. The leaders have indicated that if the fertilizer supply situation does not improve, farmers may resort to organized protests to press their demands.
