Fisherfolk protest plan to build Secretariat at Foreshore Estate

Fisherfolk have launched a protest against a government proposal to construct a Secretariat building at Foreshore Estate. They hoisted black flags to mark their opposition to the plan.

The fishing community has demanded that the government return lands belonging to Srinivasapuram and provide new houses for approximately 15,000 fishermen along Marina Loop Road. They have also called for formal discussions with the government on the matter before any decision is finalized.
