Four arrested in J&K and Punjab over suspected Pakistan drone drops

Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested four individuals, including three from the region and one from Punjab, in connection with a cross-border narco-terror module allegedly linked to Pakistan-based gangster Shahzad Bhatti. The arrests followed the seizure of weapons and drugs reportedly dropped by drone from Pakistan, according to police claims.
The three J&K residents arrested include two individuals from Talhar known as Ajay Kumar (aliases Rabb and Sam) and one Rahul from Treva, all in their early 20s. Police seized an Italian-made Bretta pistol with two magazines and four live rounds, along with approximately 500 grams each of heroin and opium. Following interrogation of these three, Jaganpreet Randhawa alias Jaggi was arrested from Punjab. Officials stated that Bhatti, described as operating under ISI patronage, sent consignments of arms, ammunition and narcotics through drone for delivery to module members in Punjab. According to police, the accused had received two drone-droppings: the first containing approximately half-a-dozen pistols months ago, and a second containing narcotics buried near a tubewell to avoid detection. A case has been registered under relevant sections with investigations ongoing.
