Ranji Trophy should not be interrupted for white-ball tournaments: Gavaskar

Sunil Gavaskar has advocated against interrupting the Ranji Trophy to accommodate white-ball tournaments. The cricket legend questioned why the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy cannot adopt a similar format to the Ranji Trophy, where the tournament runs through quarterfinals before a break, followed by semifinals and finals.

Gavaskar's comments highlight concerns over the scheduling of domestic cricket in India and the balance between red-ball and limited-overs competitions.
