Germany Ready to Sign Submarine Partnership with India, Emphasizes Technology Transfer

Germany is prepared to sign the proposed submarine partnership with India once Indian authorities complete required approvals, German Ambassador to India Jasper Wieck said. The partnership, involving German defence firm Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems (TKMS), will centre on submarine production in India and technology transfer rather than a simple sale.
Wieck stressed that the deal represents a genuine partnership benefiting the broader Indian maritime ecosystem and multiple companies. He said Germany stands ready to proceed immediately upon India's final approval from various authorities.
