Google rolls out Android 17 with AI features for Pixel phones

Google has rolled out its major 2026 software update for Pixel devices, introducing the stable public release of Android 17. The update brings AI-powered creativity tools, smarter multitasking features, expanded safety capabilities, and improved calling functionality. The rollout will occur in phases over the coming weeks.

Key new features include Screen Reactions for native reaction video overlays, AI video creation through Gemini Omni, custom music generation via Lyria 3, and App Bubbles for floating app windows. Android 17 also expands Voice Translate support to Pixel 10a devices, enabling real-time call translation while preserving the caller's voice. Additional features like Take a Message and Custom Greetings have been made available for users in India.
