Government launches GOBARdhan scheme with assured CBG offtake and 10-year price support
The government has rolled out the GOBARdhan scheme, a Rs 23,731-crore initiative designed to provide India's compressed biogas (CBG) industry with a more stable and predictable business environment. The framework offers assured offtake guarantees, government-backed pricing support for at least 10 years, and capital assistance to producers.
The scheme aims to tackle key concerns of both buyers and financiers by converting agricultural waste, cattle dung, and other organic waste into energy. By providing price certainty and offtake assurances, the government seeks to encourage investment and accelerate the growth of India's CBG sector.
