Government Working on New Affordable Housing Policy: CREDAI

The Confederation of Real Estate Developers' Associations of India (CREDAI) has stated that the government is preparing a new affordable housing policy, expected to be unveiled within the next six months.
CREDAI has urged the government to revise the definition of affordable housing by removing the ₹45 lakh per-unit price cap while retaining size-based criteria. The realtors' body emphasizes that this change is necessary to align policy with market realities and improve housing supply.
The move aims to make affordable housing policies more flexible and responsive to ground-level conditions in different regions.
