Government questions Rahul Gandhi's UPI charges criticism, cites Congress MPs' panel support

A senior government functionary challenged Rahul Gandhi's recent criticism of UPI charges, pointing out that Congress MPs supported the proposal within a parliamentary panel. The functionary noted that former finance minister P. Chidambaram and former UPA minister Manish Tewari, both Congress members, had given their nod to the measure during panel discussions.
The remarks come as Gandhi has publicly opposed the government's move to introduce charges on UPI transactions, viewing it as detrimental to the common citizen. The government's comment suggests internal contradiction within the Congress party on the issue.
