GST remains valuable for West Bengal, says Finance Minister after Council meet

West Bengal Finance Minister Swapan Dasgupta on Wednesday stressed the importance of GST for the state's revenue generation following the 57th GST Council meeting.

Dasgupta highlighted structural reforms being pursued to improve the ease of doing business. The proposed changes aim to strengthen GST compliance and accelerate refund processing for taxpayers.

The GST Council has expressed confidence in rolling out regulatory improvements and automating registration processes. These enhancements are expected to be implemented progressively through 2027.
