GST Council to discuss unified registration process for multi-state businesses

The GST Council is set to discuss a proposal aimed at simplifying GST registration for businesses operating across multiple states. Under the new framework, companies would be able to submit a single application covering registrations in all required states, rather than filing separate applications in each jurisdiction.
The proposal also includes provisions for automatic approval of changes in major registration fields, intended to reduce processing time. Currently, businesses must navigate a cumbersome process of state-by-state registration, which creates administrative burden and delays.
