India women's cricket captain Harmanpreet Kaur resigned from her role following disagreement over a proposed split captaincy arrangement. The Board of Control for Cricket in India had reportedly suggested dividing leadership between ODI and T20 formats, a proposal Harmanpreet found unacceptable.
Rather than accept a divided captaincy role, Harmanpreet chose to step down entirely from the position. The split arrangement was identified as the key sticking point leading to her exit.
