Haryana appoints six sportspersons to civil services under SC-backed scheme

The Haryana government has appointed six outstanding sportspersons, including three para-athletes, to the state civil services. Among them, Manjit Singh, an Asian Games 2018 athletics gold medallist, has been inducted into the Haryana police service as deputy superintendent of police.
These appointments were made under the Haryana Outstanding Sportspersons (Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2018, following directions from the apex court in May 2026. The scheme aims to recognise and provide career opportunities to accomplished athletes in government service.
