High Court dismisses TMC's plea against LoP recognition decision

The West Bengal High Court has dismissed the Trinamool Congress's plea seeking an interim order against the assembly speaker's recognition of a Leader of Opposition (LoP). TMC legislator Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay had challenged the decision by Assembly Speaker Rathindra Nath Bose, made on June 3.
The court's rejection of the interim order petition indicates the judicial bench found insufficient grounds to interfere with the speaker's original determination on the LoP designation.
