IILM University Gurugram Wins First KIIT Inter-University Client Counselling Competition

IILM University, Gurugram emerged as the winner of the 1st KIIT Inter-University Client Counselling Competition 2026, organised by KIIT Legal Services Clinic at KIIT School of Law. The team comprised Vittoria Gautam Pal and Lalchhuansangi Bawitlung. Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur secured the runner-up position with participants Aadhya Dhagat and Mitarth Lavania.

The competition was held in hybrid format with online preliminary rounds on 19 September 2026 and offline rounds on 27 September 2026 at Bhubaneswar. It aimed to provide law students with practical skills through simulated client-counsel interactions, emphasising communication, legal analysis, ethical decision-making and problem-solving across contractual disputes, constitutional law, criminal matters, consumer protection and cyber crimes.

Shariya Alam of St. Xavier's University, Kolkata received the Best Counsel Award, while Prachi Singh from KIIT School of Law secured the Best Client Award. The valedictory ceremony was attended by Retd. Justice M.M. Das, former judge of Orissa High Court.
