IIT Bombay Showcases BharatGen, Multilingual AI Platform, at Global Forum in France

IIT Bombay presented BharatGen, a multilingual artificial intelligence platform, at the Bharat Innovates 2026 event in Nice, France, from June 14-16. The three-day showcase, organised by the Ministry of Education with guidance from the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser, aimed to connect India's research-driven startups and institutions with global investors and policymakers.
Developed by IIT Bombay's Department of Computer Science and Engineering under Professor Ganesh Ramakrishnan, BharatGen is supported by a team of over 60 researchers, engineers and linguists from nine academic institutions. The platform integrates four core systems: Param2 (large language model), Shrutam2 (speech recognition), Sooktam2 (text-to-speech with voice cloning) and Patram (vision model for Indian documents). Domain-specific applications include Ayur Param for healthcare, Agri Param for agriculture, and Legal Param for legal services.
