IIT Mandi inquiry clears students in caste poster case, finds no SC/ST Act violation

An internal inquiry at IIT Mandi has concluded that students involved in displaying a caste-based poster acted without deliberate intent to harm and did not breach provisions of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

The probe found insufficient grounds to invoke the SC/ST Act against the students. The institution's investigation committee examined the circumstances surrounding the poster and determined that the case did not meet the threshold for legal violations under the act.
