CEC must be removed, say former bureaucrats and activists

A group of former bureaucrats and activists, including a former Home Secretary of Delhi, attempted to serve a 'public impeachment notice' on Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, claiming he has lost public trust. The delegation sought to reach the Election Commission of India office but was prevented by heavy police barricades.
The group contended that the CEC should be removed from his position. However, security personnel blocked their access to the ECI premises, preventing them from formally serving the notice.
