India and Canada aim for $50 billion trade deal by 2030
India and Canada are in active negotiations to finalize a free trade agreement intended to significantly boost bilateral commerce. Nearly 300 Canadian business delegates are currently visiting India to support and advance these discussions.
Both nations have set an ambitious target to increase two-way trade to $50 billion by 2030. The agreement will focus on key sectors including energy, critical minerals, and agriculture, while both sides are pushing for improved market access in their respective economies.
Negotiations had paused briefly but have since resumed with considerable momentum. Officials and business leaders from both countries express optimism about reaching a deal before December, marking a potential milestone in India-Canada economic relations.
