India assigns official names to 27 Arunachal Pradesh sites in response to China's map claims

India has assigned official names to 27 sites in Arunachal Pradesh as a counter to China's practice of assigning Chinese names to locations in the state. India has consistently rejected Beijing's exercise, describing it as "vain and preposterous".
India maintains that Arunachal Pradesh "was, is, and will" remain an integral part of the country, and such actions by China do not alter this "undeniable" fact. Several of the newly designated locations hold strategic importance due to their proximity to the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
