SC allows firecrackers in Delhi-NCR during restricted hours for Diwali

The Supreme Court has ruled against an outright ban on firecrackers in the Delhi-NCR region, opting instead for a balanced approach between public health and cultural observance. Firecrackers will be permitted only during designated time slots, with a focus on environmentally friendly varieties that meet strict safety standards set by licensed manufacturers.
The court's decision aims to address pollution concerns while allowing citizens to celebrate Diwali. The issue of barium content in firecrackers will receive further consideration on October 15.
