India's growth outpaces global uncertainty, says PM Modi at fintech fest
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Global Fintech Fest 2026 in Mumbai, stating that global confidence in India has strengthened during difficult times. He noted that while the world faces conflicts and uncertainties, India continues to grow at 7.8 per cent, with oil tensions persisting globally.
Modi highlighted UPI's role in fintech, noting it completed 10 years on August 25. He recalled his earlier vision that banking would become accessible at one's fingertips—an idea many initially considered impossible. UPI has now expanded beyond India, operating in 11 countries worldwide, he said.
