US trade deal to be finalised as circumstances have changed: Piyush Goyal
Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal indicated that India is reassessing its interim trade agreement framework with the United States in response to recent global developments. He stated that circumstances have evolved, warranting a fresh approach to finalising the trade deal.
Goyal highlighted that India is simultaneously engaged in active trade negotiations with multiple nations, including Mexico, the United Kingdom, and Canada. These parallel discussions reflect India's broader strategy to diversify its trade partnerships and secure favourable terms across key markets.
The minister noted that export performance data through September has shown strong momentum, suggesting positive momentum for India's external commerce. This robust export trajectory is expected to support India's trade negotiation stance in upcoming discussions with both established and new trading partners.
