India Summons Pakistan Envoy Over Ferozepur Border Clash, Drug Networks

New Delhi's Ministry of External Affairs summoned Pakistan's Chargé d'Affaires on Saturday to lodge a formal protest against cross-border infiltration and Pakistani narcotics syndicates operating along the border. India rejected Pakistan's allegations regarding a security encounter in Punjab's Ferozepur sector on October 2.
According to Indian authorities, three individuals illegally crossed from Pakistan into Indian territory. Border Security Force personnel issued multiple warnings directing them to return, but the intruders advanced toward the border fence. BSF personnel opened fire to neutralise the security threat.
The MEA stated the incident reflects a recurring pattern of armed drug smuggling networks operating from Pakistani territory and urged Pakistan to investigate cross-border infiltration, drug smuggling, and alleged complicity of Pakistani border forces. New Delhi demanded Pakistan take immediate corrective measures to prevent such activities.
