India imposes minimum import price on clear float glass

India has announced a minimum import price on clear float glass, a move that is expected to support domestic producers in the sector. Saint-Gobain and Asahi India, major manufacturers of clear float glass in the country, are among the primary beneficiaries of this trade protection measure.
The minimum import price is designed to shield domestic glass manufacturers from cheaper imports and stabilize the domestic market. This policy aligns with India's broader efforts to promote local manufacturing and reduce import dependency in key industrial sectors.
