India to Manufacture 405 Defence Equipment Worth ₹3,070 Crore

India's Defence Production Department has released the sixth positive indigenisation list of 405 strategically important defence items valued at approximately ₹3,070 crore. These items will now be developed and manufactured domestically under the Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India initiatives.
The list includes 16 items for the Indian Coast Guard and 389 items for defence public sector undertakings. Products cover aircraft platforms including Advanced Light Helicopter, Light Utility Helicopter, Sukhoi-30 MKI, Light Combat Aircraft, AL-31FP engine components, and armoured platforms including T-72, T-90 and BMP-2 equipment. The comprehensive list encompasses components, sub-systems, spare parts and raw materials used across weapon systems and defence platforms.
The domestication effort aims to reduce India's import dependence on defence equipment and boost self-reliance in the defence sector.
