Govt plans colour-coded driving licence for Indians, foreigners

The road transport ministry has proposed sweeping changes to the driving licence regime under the Motor Vehicles Rules, including a colour-coded driving licence for Indians and foreigners.
The ministry issued a draft notification on Wednesday. It proposes raising the pass mark for the online safe-driving tutorial assessment from the current 60% to 75%.
The draft also states that life insurance policies would no longer be accepted as proof, a change that would affect how applicants establish their credentials.
The proposals are in draft form and invite public comments before any final notification is issued.
