Indian Navy commissions indigenous warship Samarthak

The Indian Navy has commissioned Samarthak, the first of four indigenous multi-purpose vessels, marking a significant step in the country's defence self-reliance initiative.
Samarthak's induction into the naval fleet underscores India's growing capability to design and construct advanced military vessels domestically. The vessel is part of a larger programme to expand the Navy's operational strength with home-grown platforms.
The commissioning of this warship aligns with India's broader objective to reduce dependence on foreign defence imports and strengthen indigenous manufacturing capabilities in the maritime defence sector.
