Indian Students Increasingly Choosing Germany, France, Ireland Over US, UK

Indian students are reshaping their international education preferences, with Germany, France, Ireland, Italy and the Netherlands gaining prominence as study destinations. This shift marks a diversification from traditional choices like the United States, United Kingdom and Australia, driven by factors including affordability, career prospects and job opportunities after graduation.
More than 100,000 Indian students now study at various European universities. The Educational Testing Service has adapted its TOEFL iBT test to support this changing landscape, introducing modifications to align with evolving student needs for flexibility and authenticity in their academic journey.
The trend reflects how Indian students are now considering a broader range of countries and academic environments, with emphasis on developing practical communication skills beyond traditional classroom learning.
