Jaipur police bust Rs 18.6-crore cyber fraud network operating through fake OLX deals and impersonated CBI calls

Jaipur police have dismantled a major cyber fraud network that operated across multiple states, defrauding victims of Rs 18.6 crore. The gang exploited online marketplaces, particularly OLX, to lure unsuspecting buyers into transactions before extracting money through various deceptive schemes.
The network's modus operandi involved posing as CBI officials and making threatening calls to victims, claiming involvement in illegal activities. These fake calls were designed to intimidate targets into transferring money to secure their alleged release or avoid legal action.
The investigation revealed a sophisticated operation that combined online fraud tactics with impersonation of law enforcement. Jaipur police tracked the network's operations, identified key members, and gathered evidence linking them to multiple complaints filed by victims across different regions.
