Jaishankar Hits Back At Pakistani Journalist Over Terrorism Allegations At UN

A tense confrontation occurred at the 81st United Nations General Assembly when a Pakistani journalist challenged External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, asking when India would stop sponsoring terrorism in Pakistan. Jaishankar responded bluntly, saying "A terrorist country is asking me that question? Come on." India's Permanent Representative to the UN, Harish Parvathaneni, acknowledged the exchange.
The exchange happened during a press interaction between Jaishankar and Liberia's Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow Nyanti on a Group of Friends panel discussing shipping and seafarer safety. The confrontation reflects ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan over cross-border terrorism and security. India has consistently demanded Pakistan take credible action against terrorism, while Pakistan has made counter-allegations against New Delhi.
