Security Enhanced, Anti-Terror Operations Launched in J&K Ahead of Independence Day

Security forces have stepped up operations in Jammu and Kashmir ahead of Independence Day. An anti-militancy operation was launched in Poonch's Mendhar Sector after a security guard spotted suspected movement near an under-construction tunnel linking the Pir Panjal valley with Kashmir.

Officials said the heightened security measures and anti-terror operations are part of precautionary measures for the national holiday.
