Judicial Infrastructure Advisory Committee submits interim report on court modernisation

The Judicial Infrastructure Advisory Committee, constituted by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant on 12 May 2026, has submitted its interim report on 31 August 2026. The panel, headed by Justice Aravind Kumar of the Supreme Court, includes justices from high courts across India, along with CPWD and Supreme Court officials.
The Committee's mandate covers identifying infrastructural deficiencies in courts and recommending facilities for judges, court staff, lawyers, litigants and visitors. It has also been tasked with recommending computerisation measures under the e-Courts initiative and promoting citizen-centric services to bridge the digital divide in the justice system.
The Committee has prepared a modernisation blueprint aimed at securing government funding to address infrastructural gaps in courts nationwide through substantial financial support.
