Kakoli Ghosh, Saayoni Ghosh, Yusuf Pathan Among 19 MPs Who Revolt Against Mamata Banerjee; Full List Emerges

A deepening rebellion within the Trinamool Congress has taken a new turn after the names of 19 Lok Sabha MPs backing the dissident camp surfaced, further intensifying pressure on party chief Mamata Banerjee.
According to information emerging from the rebel camp, the group has formally communicated its position to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, highlighting the widening divide within the party's parliamentary ranks.
The list of MPs associated with the rebellion includes Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, Satabdi Roy, Bapi Haldar, Dr Sharmila Sarkar, Prasun Bandyopadhyay, Jagadish Barma Basunia, Asit Kumar Mal, Arup Chakraborty, Rachna Banerjee, Saayoni Ghosh, Khalilur Rahaman, Abu Taher Khan, Yusuf Pathan, Mitali Bag, Mala Roy, Kalipada Soren, Deepak Adhikari, June Malia and Partha Bhowmick.
Several of the names are considered influential figures within the party. Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, a four-time MP from Barasat, was long regarded as one of Mamata Banerjee's trusted leaders. The inclusion of prominent MPs such as Saayoni Ghosh, Yusuf Pathan, Satabdi Roy, Rachna Banerjee and June Malia has added to the political significance of the revolt.
The development has raised serious questions about the future of the Trinamool Congress in Parliament, where the party currently has 28 Lok Sabha members. The reported support of 19 MPs for the rebel faction has fuelled speculation about a major organisational split.
Amid rumours that veteran leader Shatrughan Sinha was also part of the dissident group, the Asansol MP categorically denied any involvement and reiterated his loyalty to Mamata Banerjee.
"I will not leave Mamata Banerjee in her difficult time. She stood by me when I was facing a tough time after losing the election in Patna," Sinha said.
He further stated, "I am grateful to those who invited me to join the TMC rebel group, but my principled stand is I should stand by Mamata Banerjee now. As of now, I won't change my path."
The rebellion has also intensified the debate surrounding the role of Abhishek Banerjee within the party. Several rebel leaders have reportedly blamed the current crisis on the party's internal leadership structure and decision-making process.
Adding to the turmoil, senior Trinamool leader Kalyan Banerjee publicly escalated his criticism and demanded that Abhishek Banerjee be removed from leadership responsibilities.
"I will remain in this party only if Abhishek is removed from all leadership positions and retained only as an ordinary worker," Kalyan Banerjee said.
With senior MPs openly backing the rebel camp and internal divisions becoming increasingly visible, Mamata Banerjee now faces one of the biggest political challenges of her career as she attempts to prevent the crisis from pushing the party towards a formal split.
