Traffic chaos halts Kancheepuram for five hours due to shortage of police

Kancheepuram came to a standstill for five hours as severe traffic congestion paralysed the town. The gridlock affected major thoroughfares including Kamarajar Street, Nellukara Street, Gandhi Road, Mettu Street and Salai Street.

Authorities attributed the disruption to inadequate traffic police deployment and holiday schedules that left roads understaffed. The congestion disrupted commuter movement and commercial activity across the town.
